Determination of Dimethyl Carbonate Content in Gasoline by ATRFTIR

ATRFTIR was used to determine the content of dimethyl carbonate in gasoline. Quantitative analysis was performed based on LambertBill principle. The results show good linearity with the content of dimethyl carbonate in the range of 0.5%~10.0%,whereas the detection limit was 0.15% and the spiked recover rate were 101.4%~118.4% with the relative standard deviations less than 1%. The method proves to be simple, accurate, fast, reproducible and also costeffective.
